North West Shared Services Forum Recruits Leading Members at Re-launch Event
The North West Shared Services Forum got off to a flying start thanks to the successful re-launch event that took place at the IoD Hub in Manchester at the end of November.
Enthusiasm for the Forum underpinned a hugely positive event, which saw heads of Shared Service Centres from across the region come together to discuss how to take the Forum forward for the benefit of all.
New members include:
Allied Bakeries Ltd, AstraZeneca, Bristol-Myers Squibb, Cargill, Ciba Chemicals, Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC), ITV Granada plc, J T International, Kellogg's, Marks & Spencer, Michelin, Network Rail, Rolls-Royce plc, Royal Mail, Royal & Sun, Alliance TDG plc, Tetra Pak Business Services Ltd, The Co-operative Group, United Co-operatives Ltd, Xansa, Xchanging HR Services, The Northwest Development Agency
Membership is open to any company running a Shared Service Centre in the UK and will operate in partnership with MIDAS. The first meeting of the North West Shared Services Forum takes place on 22nd February and will include:
- Presentations from each member introducing their companies, their Shared Service Centre and current challenges.
- Stephen Duffy from BearingPoint leading a discussion about the future of shared services in the North West.
- Dr Chris Westrup of the University of Manchester presenting his team's research into Shared Service Centres in Manchester, Prague and Mumbai.
- Lisa Hooley from Tetrapak giving a presentation on their current Shared Service Centre, followed by a tour of the forum venue.
